This picture is from one of the ornaments on the tree at my mom & dad's house. I like the story of the shepherds...the bottom of society in those days were the first to hear the good news and got to spread it around. What a great message this is, that no matter who we are, God's love and the good news of Christmas is for all of us!

“So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. We're In Atlanta!

We're in Atlanta this weekend to photograph the Peachtree City Civic Ballet's production of the Nutcracker. It's always an honor and a treat to come back and visit so many of our friends at the studio, the old neighborhood and the church. It's fun see how much the dancers have grown (and some that used to be just little kids have gone on and graduated!).

If you're one of our Georgia friends, be sure to come out to one of the performances on Saturday or Sunday!

For our Colorado friends - we'll be back on Monday the 15th. The studio will be open through Thursday the 18th and then we close for the year on December 19th. If you have any last minute needs, be sure to get with us right away!

Danny Oertli mini concert

Last night we gathered with other CSCS families at Mr. Biggs for a parents meeting but we had a great surprise when Danny Oertli came out and gave a mini-concert for us.

Even better, his little daughter came out and sang a short song for us too. She was a little shy at first...


But she warmed up pretty quick when the microphone was in front of her...

Dress Art

Attention brides! Great deal on Dresses!

In our regular contact with local vendors we ran across this terrific deal and wanted to pass it along to you!

Brittany & Zach

Word of mouth advertising is our biggest source of business and Monday's engagement photo shoot was no different. Brittany and Zach were guests at one of our August weddings and after seeing us in action and the resulting images, just knew the right choice for their wedding next year.

We wanted some autumn images and while the leaves have left many trees, we found a cute little grove tucked away in a business park and took full advantage. I'm pretty excited about the resulting images...we'll be making some 'save the date' cards soon!










Brittany had some cute red high-heels on -- I love capturing the details!








And Zach brought out his Harley to wrap up the session:

Harley in the park

A month ago we learned of a local bartender at the Iron Horse Cantina who had a motorcycle accident. The Iron Horse conducted an auction to help defray the considerable medical expenses and we decided to donate a portrait session and wall enlargement for the auction.

We're really happy with the results and doubly excited that we got to photograph some motorcycle pictures. For our session we went to Garden of the Gods just before sunset and rode through the park, just enjoying the perfect day. Some tourists in the park even asked to get their picture taken with our subject!

Here are a few of our favorite images...hopefully you'll get to see them a the the Iron Horse before long too!

Cool night shots

I had a chance to do a little real-estate photography again and once again our super-cool evening shots were requested to blow the socks off potential buyers of this great property (hint hint..hahah).

Anyway, this one was a bit of a challenge with the background being west with the setting sun, the sky was too bright and when we toned it down, the yard was too dark. Here's what we had:




One of my friends from the Christian Photographers Guild told me about some interesting high dynamic range photography techniques and I thought I'd give it a try and behold...a terrific creation!



I'm excited to get to use this more with future commercial work!
