July 3 wedding at Shove Chapel - Colorado Springs wedding photographer

Time blew by so quickly last Saturday at Dana and Kirby's wedding that we wish we could have photographed at the chapel and all over campus for hours more. Dana and Kirby were so relaxed and romantic and the day was perfect. Here are some of our favorite images:

The 80-year-old Shove Chapel on the campus of Colorado College is such a gorgeous location for weddings:









Not one, not two, not three but FOUR flowergirls...CUTE!





Kirby wore an intricate cha cha bracelet woven with trinkets:



A gorgeous bouquet and red shoes to match!



Kirby was stunning in her platinum dress. We had time for quick session at the entrance to the chapel and all the girls were oohing and ahing!



Dana was dapper in his tux and matching red socks!





I felt like a celebrity...I think some of the guests have as many photographs of me as they do from the ceremony! ;)







The Shove Chapel is somewhat dark inside and a lot of photographers just hate to shoot there but I like how the arches are subdued and the altar is spotlighted here:

Alone at last!







The reception was a the Fine Arts Center across campus and Kirby really wanted to have a fun photograph of everyone at the reception in the courtyard. The nice folks at the Fine Arts Center let us go up on the roof for it...alright!



Another beautiful and delicious creation from Little London Cakes...they have some of the best tasting cakes in town!



Kirby and Dana had a choreographed first dance and they pulled it off like they were on Dancing With The Stars!





We snuck off to the art exhibits for some more portraits...I hope I don't get in trouble for using flash in the gallery! ;)

June 26 wedding at Cheyenne Mountain resort - July 3 wedding at Shove Chapel - Colorado Springs wedding photographer

The gorgeous Cheyenne Mountain Resort hosted Courtney & Chris's wedding Saturday morning. We were treated to perfect weather and beautiful views from the west terrace as we photographed the preparations.







Flowers by Camille provided gorgeous Gerber daisies and decorative blooms throughout the terrace and reception ballroom:





We had a little hiccup in the morning as the fire alarms were unexpectedly triggered. Fortunately nothing was burning and we had a chance to make the best of it with our new 'prop' ;)

Beach Party in Denver - Denver event photographer

Last Thursday we packed up the studio gear and headed up to Denver for one of the most enjoyable corporate shoots we've ever had. Shooting for our friends at Rocky Mountain Connections, we set up a monster photo station for the final event at Honda's dealer meeting at the Colorado Convention Center.

The theme was 'beach party' -- we even had Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys playing for us! And wow did RMC deliver with incredible decor...check out the terrific lighting and props they came up with!

To go along with the beach theme, we brought in a huge 20' wide hand-painted canvas scene and Honda parked one of their 4-wheeler ATV in front of it (we tried to take the ATV home with us but they said no...).



To top it off, DeAnna set out a terrific table with beach-themed props for the guests to wear in the photographs...what a huge hit! We even had our 'teeny bikini' get 'stolen'...somewhere somebody went home to his hotel room realizing that he'd been wearing a size 1 bikini top all night! Hahhaa.





Our associate photographer Phil did an awesome job of jazzing everyone up for their portrait. Here he is ensuring proper surfing form:



To top it all off, we networked with another photo station in the lobby and put the portraits up on the big projection screens live for the party! Here are our assistants Gary and Madeleine sending the portraits up to the slide show and printing for our guests:



...and the big control room 'video village' where they put us live on the show. See--that's us in the preview monitor! ;) Our computers ran automatic processes on each of the photographs that came from the photo stations and masked them with a logo for the party and a pink border to fit the projector screen ratios.

All in all, this was a HUGE day of work but it's been our most enjoyable event of the year -- big parties are fun but putting together such a terrific team and flexing so much technology to pull off the job with flying colors was the real satisfaction. Can't wait to do it all again!

senior session at the farm - Colorado Springs portrait photographer

Katie is one of our senior models...we made Katie get up nice and early for this 8am session on the exclusive 'farm' location we're using for our 2010 sessions. This is an example of our 'full' session, we even let Katie talk us into a second location to wrap up with a few fun and flirty portraits at Garden of the Gods....just beware, you'll have quite an audience if you choose a session there!

We had this one called to our attention that it doesn't meet school dress code...no biggie for your personal favorites but be sure to know what's allowed and what isn't when you get ready for your yearbook portrait!

Love this tall grass...it's feather soft, I bet you could fall asleep in it!

snowy engagement at Fox Run Park - Colorado Springs wedding photographer

Charli and Andy wanted to have a nice outdoor engagement session in the pines with a 'Colorado' feel to the portraits. Little did they know that we'd get one of our end-of-the-season snowstorms right before their session!

Kudos to Charli and Andy for braving the elements and going for it anyway! Fortunately it wasn't too cold...just wet! Charli looked adorable in her black dress and turquoise cowgirl boots. Check out their portraits below...we can't wait to photograph their wedding in July when we're (mostly) certain there won't be any snow!
