The Denver A-List is once again taking votes for best photographer in the Denver area. Last year Image Factory was one of the top vote-getters and we got a pretty late start on it. This year, we're ready on opening day!

Sunset over Colorado Springs

Last night we wrapped up a senior/family portrait session a the Grand Overlook of Palmer Park. This is a terrific place to watch the sun set and I could just see it being 'make out point' if you could pull your car all the way up to the edge ;)

I like the view of the city lights that goes along with the mountain backdrop:

State Games of the West - Opening Ceremonies

Thursday night I got the chance to connect with some local photographers led by Monica Bryant Photography to provide photo coverage of the opening ceremonies for the State Games of the West at the World Arena in Colorado Springs.


The night was filled with all kinds of great entertainment from a rock concert to jump ropers extraordinaire to an Army choir and even gold medal olympians.

The big entertainment of the evening was from local dance studios participating in the 'Light the World Parade' which has been part of Olympic opening ceremonies and will be again next year.
















I even got a chance to meet Colorado springs mayor Lionel Rivera:




The evening culminated with the lighting of the torch by Olympic gold medalist Derek Parra:







All in all a terrific time and I hope to get opportunities to photograph at the Americas Games next year too!

Now this is a house!

While weddings and portraits are our business, we end up doing a little bit of commercial photography for people who know us and have seen our work before and need some of our signature style.

July 19 wedding at the Secret Garden

Saturday was another gorgeous day for a wedding in Colorado. While I didn't have my own, I got a chance to bring my camera out with my friend Dave of Spartan Images to photograph Jen & Todd's wedding at the Secret Garden in Colorado Springs.


Todd was a little nervous but he managed to get the tie on in one piece ;)




I think it was his stylish shoes that made the biggest impression on us:




After we finished giving him and the boys the paparazzi treatment, he got a chance for some solitude in one of the Garden's many hideaways:




Meanwhile, we took the ladies over to the wine garden for some nice greenery in their portraits:




The girls were fired up for a fun afternoon wedding in the garden!




One of my favorite moments of the wedding day is the first time the bride and groom really get to be alone together as a married couple...right after the ceremony. I make a point of never intruding and just hanging back to capture the happiness and wonder between them.

I learned this weekend...

... that salamanders are native to Colorado and love to live in your window well covers if you don't clean them out and cover them up! (Yes we let him/her go nicely).

July 12 wedding in Vail

With perfect Colorado weather on our side, we had a great weekend heading up to Vail for Jeannette & Bert's wedding at the Vail Interfaith Chapel.






We started out by catching up with the ladies and Jeannette was showing off her cute 'I Do' slippers:




A gorgeous bouquet and Tiffany rings were among the perfect details starting the day.






Mom was able to hold her tears of joy back long enough to help lace the gorgeous dress:




We took a walking tour of Vail Village with the bridesmaids and made a ton of fun, relaxed portraits...




While the boys played on the nearby golf course:

A serious wedding sermon!




And they're married! Time for some great portraits and partying!




Jeannette said she chose the site because of how it reminded her of her childhood days in Austria. Beautiful mountains surrounded us everywhere we went:

We finished by dancing the night away at the classy Sonnenalp Resort in Vail Village:

July 5 wedding at Trinity United Methodist in Denver

This last Saturday we caught up with one of our most energetic, fun and enthusiastic brides of the year for her stylish wedding at Trinity United Methodist and a reception at the Grand Hyatt across the street.


We started in the hotel where the guys were trying to keep Chad loose and ready:




Tina and the ladies were relaxing just a few floors down so we took some time to photograph the dress in the urban setting:




"Mom always taught me to hold hands when crossing the street."




After a beautiful ceremony it was time to make some beautiful portraits.












Meanwhile our other photographer Josh kept the wedding party busy having fun:




Up to the 37th floor ballroom for amazing views and an intimate party with family and friends.

Only 1 day past Independence day and we got treated to a great fireworks show outside:
