Seniors....

Considering we don't advertise much at all for senior portraits, the amount of inquiries we've received has been impressive. The seniors we hear from are those who want 'something different' -- we're not proppy -- no styrofoam '2008' here, we're fun and creative! We haven't announced our 2007-08 pricing for seniors yet but we'll have it out soon. In the meantime, if you're a 2007 senior needing last minute announcements or portraits - you've gotta get in touch with us now! If you're in the class of 2008, grab your date early as the spring weather heats up, the timing couldn't be better and you'll have a nice jump on the rest of your class!

It didn't take long...

Not 24 hours after my last post and I received a couple of really nice compliments...one from a recent engagement session:

"The photographs are sensational!! A few of them even made me get a little teary. I am so happy with them all. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Chris and I can't wait to see what the wedding photos will be like. "

and another person out of the blue who had seen our site on the 'recently launched clients' section of our web designers -- BluDomain.com:

"Love your work! I was checking out the recent sites they've [BluDomain] made. Yours stood out a lot. Love it! Dixie "Photographer of the Year-Silver Award-PPA" Master Photographer Certified Professional Photographer"

So here's my chance (and I'll say it to them too) -- Thank you, praise God!

You're the best!

Arggh...I completely missed the boat the other day. I was visiting with some previous clients and they were showering me with praise for the images we created for them and how great we are to work with. I just stood there and smiled, soaking it all up, saying how much I love what I do.

I really wish I would have said something that gave the glory to God -- after all that's where my talent and success comes from. I thought I was going to be an engineer when I started college. It was my love of cameras and keen interest in them since childhood that caught up to me and I found this talent knocking on my door, taking me a completely different direction. If that's not the hand of God, I don't know what is! So I constantly struggle with ways I can serve with this talent...it doesn't seem so obvious to me...and it really bothered me that when an opportunity to praise God came up right in front of me, I choked. Anyway, here's my public proclamation and here's to doing better next time I have an opportunity.

Say hello to 'Mrs. Peyton'

We only recently learned that we had a superstar just down the street from us -- our own 'Mrs. Peyton', preparing to enter into the Mrs. Colorado Pageant later this year. We had the opportunity to help Mrs. Peyton prepare for the contest with some great modeling shots. Can you believe this one was out on the driveway?

Best wishes Mrs. Peyton! I think you've got a real chance...we just looked at the current Mrs. Colorado and she's showing her college pictures wearing a 'UNK' (our alma mater) jersey, claiming to have played basketball for UNL -- how shameful!

Live to Ride, Ride to Live...

We took advantage of the spectacular spring weather and did some cruising around Garden of the Gods park for this engagement session. Ordinarily we shy away from doing too much in Garden of the Gods so as not to be too 'typical' but these are truly unique! We had a good time and the normal 1 hour session ended up going over 2 hours...and the time flew by!

Thanks guys! Enjoy your portraits!

Awesome cards!

Check out some of the great new designs we're now offering in folded greeting cards -- in addition to our standard folded cards, postcards and the great 5x5x5 trifold cards many of you saw in my Christmas card last year, we can now make accordian cards and folded square cards.

Imagine these for your graduation, wedding and baby announcements! How about Thank You cards that give a HUGE thank you! Even better--these are an economical way to send multiple family pictures out to everyone in your clan as they're less expensive than traditional 5x7 and 8x10 prints!

Here's a cool 'save the date' card we just made in a postcard style:

More wedding photographs fromhttp://www2.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif Sunday...

Just had to post a few more of our favorites from Sunday at the Marriott in Colorado Springs...

Photgraphers like Yervant and Gary Fong are getting paid $20,000 plus per wedding to make cross-processed drag-shutter images like this....maybe we should raise our rates? ;)

Looking good!

Now this is one cool father of the bride! We goofed off all day!

Kathryn & Jonathan

Kathryn and Jonathan wrapped up our busy weekend and we did it in style at the Colorado Springs Marriott (the old Wyndham Hotel). We had perfect weather and got to watch a gorgeous sunset over Pike's Peak.

The maid of honor found a fun way to keep track of the ring!

The white roses from Wildflower Florist were perfect!

A peakview room to get ready in, overlooking the wedding courtyard.

These guys were so relaxed and in love...this is the way it should be! We love working with laid back couples!

Great wedding guys! We can't wait to show you more....very soon!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Oops...almost forgot, but it's a 2 wedding weekend here so hopefully we can be forgiven. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Tim assisted our friends at Johnson and Johnson Photography and the couple really got into the spirit with shamrock pins for the groomsmen and pots 'o gold at the entrance!

Sunday we're off to the Colorado Springs Wyndham, now called the Colorado Springs Marriott for another wedding and it looks like it's going to be another beautiful day!

Kissing Camels...to Kissing Couples!

Garden of the Gods is such a beautiful park! We don't frequently recommend it as a portrait location though because it's rather cliche and is quite busy and time consuming to drive through. Two of our wedding couples this year just had to have portraits there so we went for it and were blessed by gorgeous weather and ended up making some beautiful portraits!

We're working on them now so stay tuned for a sneak peek...

What it feels like...

We recently received this very nice e-mail from a potential client and it made us smile and think 'this person really got the feeling for what our wedding coverage is all about'.

"Hi!
I just looked at your website, and of all the ones I have looked at, yours affected me the most! I have to tell you, I teared up looking at them, because even the formal ones had such a special touch to them, you could just see the joy in everyone's eyes.
So, I am getting married xx/xx/xx. I would love for you to photograph my wedding. "

This is going to be a terrific match! We get notes like this all the time from folks whose weddings we've already photographed...we're happy we can show that same happiness to someone who hasn't even met us yet!

2007 is shaping up to be our biggest year ever with more wedding dates reserved already than we could have hoped for! We're really excited and the fun is just getting started. Stay tuned for more great images and notes from our clients...

Woo Hoo! The New Website Is Live!

Late last night the terrific web design team at BluDomain wrapped up our new website and flipped the switch. We now have the site we've been wanting for years and it just looks fantastic.

If you came to this blog by bookmark, be sure to go to www.imagefactoryphoto.com and see the new front page. From there you'll be able to see slide shows of both our wedding and portrait work as well as come back to this blog.

We were particuarly touched by the note we received from the web design team when we wrapped it all up because these are people who get to see the best of the best photographers' sites every day:

"Congratulations your website has officially launched! Very exciting. Your site looks amazing! I have had the pleasure of getting to know you and your company tonight and have enjoyed browsing through your site. I wish you an exciting journey."

Woo hoo! Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think!

Danelle & Nick

When the weather is too windy or cold we just duck inside the studio...and have all kinds of fun here!

New website coming very soon!

We're really excited here because we're just about ready to launch a brand new web site for Image Factory Photography and you can see a sneak peek above.

Thanks to all our friends & family who have helped spell check and give feedback on the design. It's going to be really slick with some nice music and moving slide shows. We'll be able to add new pictures and wedding albums to show off much easier than before and this studio news blog will still be available through the middle picture link.

So, check back in a few days and be sure to bookmark www.imagefactoryphoto.com (not this blog page) so that you can see it!

PS - Big kudos to the talented design team at BluDomain in Denver for their work on this...the pictures are Image Factory but all the moving parts underneath that make it so cool are from them. Also thanks to the great musicians at FreePlay music - this is who we licensed the music on the new site from. We would have loved to put some great U2 or other pop song on there but as artists, we're very sensitive to media rights and we couldn't sleep at night if we were ripping off other artists. In any case, the FreePlay music is great and we think you'll really like the site...come back soon to check it out!
