Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Thank you for a terrific 2007 and we can't wait to see you again in 2008! We'll be visiting with family through the end of the year (and our big final weddings at the end of the month!) but will be able to respond every few days to e-mail and voice messages.

We hope you are able to spend some relaxing time with your family and closest friends and get a chance to worship, remembering the true meaning of Christmas!

The Nutcracker!

Going to see the Nutcracker ballet is a great Christmas tradition and for the last four years my tradition has been to photograph the performance put on by our friends at Peachtree City School of Dance. I'm about to photograph another performance today but this picture caught my eye when doing a quick edit of Saturday's performances.

Georgia on my mind

Ever since leaving Atlanta, we've had a core of customers that gets together and demands we come back once or twice each year to make portraits for them. This year is no exception and today I'm in Georgia with our friends from Peachtree City School of Dance getting ready for their Nutcracker performances. Directly across the highway is boxing champion Evander Holyfield's estate.

here's a shot of the estate entrance...there are some beautiful Christmas lights strung up and I'll post a night shot if I can get a decent angle without being chased away by security.





Update - here's a night scene of the mansion. Many of the trees are strung up and there is a very large 'Merry Christmas' sign in the front lawn too.

Christmas deadline!

Just a reminder to all our clients -- if you haven't spoken with us about an order yet, Tuesday, 12/5 is the last day we can take print orders and Christmas card orders and guarantee delivery by December 24.

That's right...tomorrow is the deadline! Get your orders in quick!

video!

I'm often asked if I'll do wedding videos as well as photography. The answer is quite simply no. I'm not passionate about video like I am still photography and I find that the video is best left to the artists like Peak Impact Productions.

I do love making video of family events though, and when our 7-year old Sony camcorder started to die, I had to replace it quickly or risk losing important family memories. With that said, I have found new level of fun and excitement with my new Canon HV-20 HD video camera...the video quality is absolutely stunning if you have an HD TV to watch it on -- just unbelievable that you can shoot video that is nearly as good as network TV at a consumer level price. So if you're in the market for an upcoming wedding, baby or Christmas gift, check it out!
