Freezing brides!
We've had a bit of unfortunate timing lately with our engagement sessions. After a few weeks of gorgeous 60 degree weather, our last couple of sessions have been below 35 degrees! True to form however, our fun-loving, easy-going couples were up for a great session and went for it anyway.
In the end, I think things turned out pretty well...it gave an excuse for them to cuddle just that much closer and to hold those kisses just a little longer ;)
Here's Teresa & Chris from Red Rock Canyon -- the first time I've shot here, but it won't be the last...it turned out to be a great location. Thanks for the suggestion guys!

Engagement portraits at Fox Run
It was a chilly afternoon but Janine & Matt toughed it out and kept each other warm as we roamed Fox Run Park in search of awesome engagement portraits...and I think we found some!
Janine wore this cute coat and thought about taking it off but the cold convinced us otherwise and I think it turned out great....the boots, coat and snuggling combined with the winter afternoon to create a terrific session. Check out the results below:

Engagement session in Garden of the Gods
Friday we enjoyed the last of our warm weather and headed up to Garden of the Gods for a fun engagement session with Katherine & Lance.
I always try to do something a bit different here since it's such a popular location. And I don't want my clients to gave the same old photos everyone else gets here. I think things turned out great...here's a sneak preview:

January 3 wedding at The Pinery
Our wedding season started quite early this year with a wintry snowy day that turned out just perfect.
We caught up with the bride and her bridesmaids a Innovations Salon in Monument.
The salon had some cute artwork on the walls:
And the flower girls were getting into the royal treatment!
The bride's dog looked a little dejected...she didn't get to be part of the festivities and this was one of the few moments she wasn't almost getting stepped on by all the traffic going through the house!
Time to get ready!
Now off to the Pinery for an intimate chapel wedding and elegant reception:
The reception hall was gorgeous and artfully lit, even sporting a cool snowflake ice sculpture!

Sunrise on a New Year

Happy New Year all! 2008 closed with such a bang that we know 2009 is going to be even better. I recently spoke with a peer in the business who was letting the doom and gloom of the daily news get her down. I shared with her my great enthusiasm for this year and how our businesses are so different than the ones you hear about crumbling on the evening news. We are so much more personable, customized, fun and close to our clients that it's often more like spending time with friends you know and trust than it is 'getting your pictures taken'.
I'm so optimistic too because every day our circle of friends grows and each time this means a former bride practically dragging her newly engaged friend to our doorstep or families telling their friends where they just HAVE to go for their session...or even someone uncomfortable with having their pictures made saying 'go to Image Factory' they'll make it easy and fun.
For this we owe our clients great gratitude and we can't wait to serve you and your friends this year. Thanks for already making 2009 a great year!

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to all our friends & clients! The studio is closed until January 5. Please feel free to send an e-mail or leave a message and we'll get back to you then. If you have something urgent, please leave a message too as the messages will be monitored.
This picture is from one of the ornaments on the tree at my mom & dad's house. I like the story of the shepherds...the bottom of society in those days were the first to hear the good news and got to spread it around. What a great message this is, that no matter who we are, God's love and the good news of Christmas is for all of us!
“So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”
- Luke 2:16-20
