interesting book

I just finished reading this book the other day -- 'just finished' is a funny term with this one though as you can probably finish it in one or two sittings like I did. The concepts aren't really new but the way they are presented is. Basically -- the way you feel and act toward others has a large impact on how they relate back to you. Not exactly earth shattering but a good Harvard Business School type approach to how much influence you have on the people around you by how you yourself are acting.

This has huge impact on everything from relationships at hone to relationships with clients. I hear so often that some people were put off by this photographer or offended by that photographer. I think sometimes it can be tempting for a photographer to think they are some elite artist that is above other people and sometimes this mindset makes them think that other people are below them or at the very least, full of annoying questions. I hope to always be as genuine toward our customers as possible and never put myself above them -- this book makes it clear that people can see right through that -- or at least react to it.

Give it a read -- for $10 at Amazon, it's definitely worth it.
