June 28 wedding at the Renaissance Festival

Saturday we headed up to the Colorado Renaissance Festival in Larkspur to photograph Deana and OJ's wedding.

This was definitely one of the more colorful and unique weddings we've ever photographed. The weather cooperated beautifully and stayed cool and slightly overcast most of the day, helping the fully-costumed wedding party keep from overheating.




OJ was really stoked to put on his 'tux'






Deana made a beautiful Renaissance bride in a custom purple and white gown:




We had a bagpipes parade throughout the Renaissance village and the lady in waiting helped clear the way for the bride and her party.




After a short ceremony the whole cast was ready to party!






The happy couple first paraded around the village in the king and queen's carriage:






'Father Dave' was a little too friendly with DeAnna...I think he freaked her out!




No chicken dancing or hokey pokey here...the party had some delicious cake from Cakes By Carol and our bride and groom joined the royal court at the afternoon joust.








Making wedding portraits in a place where there are thousands of other people not part of the wedding is definitely a challenging prospect...we wanted to let this royal couple have the time together that they deserved. I think things turned out great...here's their storybook ending:
