Monday night the Colorado Springs Christian Photographers Guild set out for scenic Castle Glen Eyrie to do some hands-on instructing and learning about outdoor portraiture.

We were fortunate to have a number of patient models on hand, from a bride & groom to a high school senior and even some young children. We had a great time and made some fantastic images that the models will get to take home for their 'portfolios' ;) Best of all, we got to learn a bit about photography from one another and see some different approaches and techniques.


Ted from A Better Image gives a demonstration of his portable lighting techniques.




Evie from My Images of Life directs some more wedding portraiture then gets down and dirty to get a unique angle.






Josh from Fingerprint Images finds a great location for some senior portraits:




Double duty! Monica from Monica Bryant Photography and Rosalyn from (hey Rosalyn...give me your studio web site so I can add it here!) makes senior portraits on the left while Ted from A Better Image works on family portraits on the right.





I had a great opportunity to watch these fine photographers and help some of the newer members of our group too. I really love the opportunity to teach other people about photography. I know some photographers fear they are training their competition but I don't feel that way. There are so many people in need of professional photography and so many different styles that we fit together quite well.
