Preferred vendor lists and integrity

We've received several requests to pay to be on preferred vendor lists but it always strikes me as odd when it's a place we've never worked and they still invite us and request payment to be on the list.

How can a venue claim to 'enjoy a close relationship with their vendors' when they've never worked with me? Are they really willing to lie to their clients if I pay them a few bucks?



Kudos to all our true close friends at venues throughout the state that put us on their lists because we HAVE worked with them and they know they can trust us to treat their clients right! The lesson here is - ask your venue if they require payment from vendors to be on the list...if they do, it might say something about their integrity!
